1. What is Data?

ween Data and Information

  • Numbers, characters, symbols, images etc., which can be processed by a computer.
  • Data must be interpreted, by a human or machine, to derive meaning
  • "Information is interpreted data" *
3. How many bits are in a byte? and in a gigabyte? and in a kilobyte or KB?

8 bits in a Byte

1073741824 bytes in a Gigabyte

1024 bytes in a Kilobyte




4. What do the letters LAN and WAN stand for?

LAN means: Local Area networks. These are the networks that you see in the most of the offices, schools, and cybercafes.

WAN IS Wide Area Netwotk They are used when the computers need to be connected with different places
